警察庁: a data access report

The main format pattern

The largest normalized label is PDF. It appears on 1,358 resource records.

This represents 34.3% of the listed format declarations.

The two largest labels account for 67.2% of that total.

The export contains 3,961 format declarations across 8 normalized labels.

These are catalogue declarations. This report does not verify every file or service response.

Compare the resource structure

This entry has 4.91 listed format declarations per dataset.

The median among 23 listed publishers in Japan is 8.66.

The entry records 4.4% of the datasets in the saved national portal export.

Multiple resources can indicate file versions, geographic parts, or alternative formats. A larger ratio does not prove better data.

The export retains up to 20 format labels per publisher. It excludes empty labels and some small publishers.

Check the two source counters

The dataset metadata declares 3,964 resources. The format table contains 3,961 declarations.

These totals differ. The metadata counter and the format table use separate source fields.

The percentages in this report use the listed format declarations as their denominator.

The export does not establish a verified count of unique, accessible files.

Interpret the metadata dates

The stored sample contains 100 dataset titles. 100 have a recorded modification date.

Those dates range from 2023-06-15 to 2026-08-27.

A catalogue edit can change the modification date without a change to the observations.

The sample can omit older records. It does not establish a publication rate or a complete historical series.

Compare the observation period on the source page before you describe a trend.

Checks for PDF

1. Check whether the page contains text or a scanned image.
2. Look for a CSV or spreadsheet alternative on the source page.
3. Check every extracted column against the original table.
4. Keep footnotes and units with the extracted values.
5. Record the page number for each extracted table.

Plan access to the data

PDF preserves page presentation. A table that looks clear on a page can require extra work for analysis.

1. Open the government source portal.
2. Find the required dataset with its exact catalogue title.
3. Confirm the observation period and geographic coverage.
4. Read the licence for that dataset.
5. Choose a file format that preserves the required fields.
6. Record the source URL and access date.

What the evidence supports

The format table identifies the main access methods in the saved catalogue.

The declaration ratio describes the structure of the saved catalogue records.

Neither measure establishes the accuracy, completeness, or current availability of the underlying observations.

Use a second dated catalogue export before any claim that publication volume increased or decreased.
